Is it time?
Signs your pool needs painting or resurfacing
- ✓
Faded, chalky or peeling surfaceThe finish looks tired even after a clean — usually the coating has simply reached the end of its life.
- ✓
Rough or pitted texture underfootUncomfortable to stand on, and a sign the surface is deteriorating below what you can see.
- ✓
Staining that won't shiftIf cleaning and balanced chemistry don't fix it, it's the surface itself, not the water.
- ✓
Cracks, especially near steps or the waterlineWorth a proper look before it becomes a bigger repair.
- ✓
Chronic algae despite correct chemicalsA worn, porous surface gives algae somewhere to hide that chlorine can't reach.

-
01
Assess & quote
Onsite inspection, honest recommendation on painting vs. resurfacing, and a fixed written quote.
-
02
Drain & prepare
Drain, inspect the substrate, patch and profile so the new coating bonds properly.
-
03
Apply the Luxapool epoxy system
Luxapool pool paint applied to spec, in your chosen colour — the only system we use.
-
04
Cure & refill
Proper cure time, then refill with start-up guidance so the new finish isn't damaged early.
Beyond the pool
Pool surrounds, refreshed too
Tired, faded or slippery pavers and decking don't have to stay that way. We use the Luxapool Poolside & Paving system to refresh the concrete, pebblecrete and paved areas around your pool — a durable, non-slip coating that lifts the whole space to match a freshly resurfaced pool, not just the shell.
Cost
What affects your price
Every quote is fixed and written after an onsite inspection — no ballpark guesses. What typically moves the price:
- ✓
Pool size & shapeMore surface area and complex geometry (steps, benches, curves) means more material and labour.
- ✓
Current conditionSignificant cracking or delamination needs more prep work than a simple repaint.
- ✓
Painting vs. resurfacingPainting is the faster, lower-cost refresh; resurfacing is the longer-term fix for a worn or damaged shell.
- ✓
Site accessTight side access or difficult equipment access can add time.
Questions
Residential FAQ
Painting vs. resurfacing — which do I need?
If your surface is structurally sound and just tired or faded, painting is the faster, more affordable refresh. If there's cracking, exposed substrate, or a rough pitted texture, resurfacing is the longer-term fix. We'll tell you honestly which one your pool needs — not just upsell the bigger job.
How long does the job take?
Most residential jobs run 5–7 days from drain to refill, weather and curing time permitting. We'll confirm exact timing in your written quote.
How soon can I swim afterwards?
Depends on the coating system and conditions — we'll walk you through the refill and start-up process as part of your handover so you don't damage the new surface by rushing it.
Do you travel outside the Gold Coast?
Yes — residential work is serviced across the Gold Coast, Brisbane, Sunshine Coast, Logan and Ipswich.
What pool types do you work on?
Concrete pools of all finishes — pebble, quartzon, marblesheen and previously painted surfaces — plus some fibreglass pools. Residential and commercial.
Is the quote obligation-free?
Yes — onsite inspection and a fixed written quote, no cost, no pressure.
